New Delhi: The third Penumbral Lunar Eclipse of year 2020 is set to occur on Sunday July 5. The eclipse, also called Chandra Grahan, is the forth eclipse of this year. Earlier, we witnessed two similar penumbral lunar eclipses and one annular solar eclipse. The previous penumbral lunar eclipse in 2020 was witnessed in January while the second penumbral Lunar Eclipse of 2020 occurred on the intervening night of June 5-6. What is Lunar Eclipse? A Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Moon moves into the shadow of Earth. There are three types of lunar eclipses - Penumbral, Total and Partial. A penumbral lunar eclipse is a phenomenon where the Moon moves through the outer part of the Earth’s shadow, thus becoming very faint. Where will Lunar Eclipse 2020 be visible? The Chandra Grahan 2020 will not be visible from India and several other parts of the globe this time as it will occur during the day time. Few regions of North America, South America, Europe and parts of western Africa will be fortunate with the visuals of lunar eclipse. Chandra Grahan timings in India:  In India, the eclipse is set to occur on July 5 during the day time. Therefore the space enthusiasts will miss on the treating visuals of an eclipse this time. According to the reports, the phenomenon is expected to begin 8:37 AM, then reach its maximum peak by 9:59 Am and finally culminate at about 11:22 AM. The total eclipse is expected to last for 2 hours- 43 mins - 24 secs on Sunday.
