NGO Friend Whom Parliament Breach 'Kingpin' Sent Video Quizzed By Bengal Police

Police have intensified their probe into the security breach incident that shook Parliament and the country on Wednesday. They have now questioned a friend of the key accused Lalit Jha.

Amid the ongoing investigation into the parliament security breach incident, police have now questioned a friend of the key accused Lalit Jha in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district, reported news agency PTI citing a police officer. This comes as Jha accompanied by a man, reached the Kartavya Path Police station in the national capital on Thursday evening and surrendered. He was then handed over to the Special Cell.

The official said that a team from Barrackpore Police Commissionerate visited Nilakahya Aich's Halisahar residence and questioned him for hours. The police asked him about his acquaintance with Jha during the days when the accused was working for an NGO.

"We talked with the person for hours to know about his friendship with Jha. We got information about him from Delhi Police," the officer told PTI.

Police said that Aich is an undergraduate student at a college in West Bengal and has received a video of the security breach at Parliament from Jha soon after the incident. "We have checked Aich's mobile phone and noted down certain information, which may be vital in our investigation," the police officer added, quoted PTI.

Notably, in a major security breach on the anniversary of the deadly 2001 Parliament terror attack, two persons on Wednesday (Dec 13) jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the visitors' gallery and released yellow smoke from canisters triggering panic and chaos in the House.

Meanwhile, sources told ABP News that the Special Cell of Delhi Police has detained two more people in connection with the Parliament security breach case. They have been identified as Mahesh, a resident of Rajasthan who allegedly gave shelter to key conspirator Lalit Mohan Jha, and Kailash. They are being interrogated by the counter intelligence unit of the Special Cell.

Sources said that Mahesh is associated with the 'Bhagat Singh Fan Club', and was supposed to create a ruckus in Parliament but was eventually stopped by his family members.
