The first phase of the Assembly elections is fast approaching and the political parties are busy with campaigning. PM Modi was set to do a virtual rally in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand in view of the upcoming polls. But, in view of the inclement weather, the maiden virtual rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled in Uttarakhand on Friday morning has been cancelled, according to the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday.
Almost 56 locations were identified by the BJP to hold a screening for over 50,000 people across 14 assembly constituencies. The assembly elections for the 70-seat Uttarakhand assembly are scheduled to take place on February 14.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will file nomination as a BJP candidate from the Gorakhpur city assembly constituency on Friday. In view of his nomination, state officials have camped in Gorakhpur. After the nomination, CM Yogi Adityanath will address a public meeting in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Education Minister, party's state election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP state president Swatantra Dev Singh.
Congress leader and MP Rahul Gandhi will arrive in Panaji today on his day-long visit to the coastal state. He was in Chhattisgarh yesterday laying the foundation of Amar Jawan Jyoti.
Discussion on President's address will continue in Rajya Sabha today. The discussion on the President's address is going on for the last two days. Or while the MPs belonging to the ruling party are patting the government on the plans and policy being run by the Modi government, while the MPs of the opposition party are surrounding the government, referring to the government's failures.
