Pakistani Journalist Mehr Tarar interrogated by SIT in Sunanda Pushkar murder case

New Delhi: According to Delhi police sources, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of police had questioned Pakistani author and columnist Mehr Tarar for hours at a five- star hotel in the last week of February this year as reported by ANI. Mehr Tarar was involved in a dispute with Sunanda on twitter over former’s alleged affair with Shashi Tharoor, the Congress MP from Trivananthpuram. Though Tarar had declined any proximity with Tharoor during interrogation.   As per the sources, Tarar cooperated with the police and her statements were recorded. SIT has now recorded statement of all the key players.   Sunanda’s viscera samples were sent to the FBI lab in Washington DC in February last year to determine the kind of poison. AIIMS medical board identified poisoning as the reason behind her death. She was found dead in a Five star hotel suite in New Delhi In January 2014.   The FBI reported ‘poisoning’ as  same as AIIMS, the reason behind the murder and mentioned about ‘a dangerous chemical’ was present in her body.
