One terrorist gunned down in Pulwama encounter

According to the police officials, the gunned down terrorist has been identified as Ayub Lelhari from LeT.

New Delhi: In a recent development, one Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist has been gunned down on Wednesday in an encounter with security forces in Banderpora village of Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama. According to the police officials, the gunned down terrorist has been identified as Ayub Lelhari from LeT. In the Pulwama gunfight, a J&K policeman was also injured. A senior police official said that acting on a tip-off about presence of terrorists in the village, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by 47 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army and Special Operations Group of state police. He further informed that as the cordon was being laid, the hiding terrorists fired upon the soldiers. However, the encounter is still underway.
