Haryana Borders Shut, Section 144 Clamped With Internet Suspension As VHP To Carry Out Procession:
- The 'shobha yatra,' scheduled for Monday, has prompted a robust deployment of police and paramilitary forces across Nuh and its neighboring areas. Stringent measures include reinforced security at inter-state and inter-district borders, along with the implementation of prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC, effectively limiting gatherings of more than four people until Monday.
- As a precautionary measure, the Nuh district administration has also ordered shutting down educational institutions and banks for the day, alongside suspending mobile internet and bulk SMS services. With communal tensions still lingering from recent clashes, these security measures aim to thwart any untoward incidents.

Looking at the kind of incident that happened there (Nuh) at the beginning of the month, it is the govt’s duty to ensure that law and order in the area is maintained. - Vishva Hindu Parishad continues to maintain that there is no need to obtain permission for religious events as it remains adamant about carrying out the procession. “We are aware that G20 Summit is going to start and so we will shorten the yatra. But we will not abandon the procession altogether and will take it out as scheduled tomorrow. I will personally take part in the yatra, ” VHP leader Alok Kumar told news agency ANI.
“Why should there be law and order problem? The government and local administration are there to maintain law and order, thus, enabling all religious events to be held peacefully. We will take out the rally peacefully and the administration will be there to maintain law and order,” he added.

To ensure a seamless response to any potential situation, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Mamta Singh has assured proper arrangements have been put in place, PTI reported.
While the Nuh administration gears up to grapple with the contentious procession, the turmoil traces back to July 31, when communal violence erupted during a VHP procession, resulting in six fatalities, including two home guards and a cleric. In response, the Sarv Jatiya Hindu Mahapanchayat called for a resumption of the Brij Mandal Shobha Yatra in Nuh on August 28. However, this plan contradicts the denial of permission by the government due to the G20 Sherpa Group meeting scheduled for September 3 to 7 as well as the need to preserve law and order following the previous unrest.
