NRI discovers mother's decomposed remains upon reaching home

Since the body was completely decomposed and the door was locked from the inside, police has assumed that the lady died a natural death about a week ago. However, the post-mortem result is also awaited for ascertaining the actual time and reason of death.

Mumbai: A Non Resident Indian and an engineer by profession Rituraj Sahani who came to Mumbai from US on Sunday, found decomposed body of his mother at her flat. After landing on Sunday, Rituraj went to his mother's flat in Andheri, only to find that no one would open it from the inside. He sought the help of a key-maker to open the door at around 4:30 PM , and upon entering, he discovered his 63-year-old mother's skeletal remains. Rituraj's mother Asha Sahani had reportedly been living alone in her flat since the death of her husband in the year 2013. Rituraj is her only son who had moved to US long back even before the death of his father. According to reports, police have assumed that the lady died about a week ago and have registered a case of accidental death.The neighbours too did not smell anything foul. However, they are also waiting for the post-mortem results. The police officials have told that the body was completely decomposed so the actual cause and time of death could not be determined . Media reports have it that the mother and son had their last conversation in the month of April, last year and she often used to complain about being lonely.
