Karni Sena Chief's Murder Case: NIA Charges Canada-Based Gangster Goldy Brar, 11 Others

Goldy Brar has been labelled as a terrorist by the government under the anti-terror law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed a charge sheet against Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar and 11 others on Wednesday for their alleged role in the killing of Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi last year, an official said.

Brar has been labelled as a terrorist by the government under the anti-terror law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). He has been involved in the smuggling of explosives, ammunition, and high-grade weapons across the border using drones. He has supplied sharpshooters and ammunition to carry out killings.

The statement claims that Gogamedi was shot and killed in December 2023 in the living room of his Shyam Nagar colony home in Jaipur. The investigations of the NIA showed that the notorious terrorist gangster syndicate was involved in the murder. Two others, Naveen Shekhawat and Ajeet Singh, were killed, while Gogamedi's gunman Narender Singh, was injured in the attack.

Investigation Reveals Rohit Godara As Mastermind Of Murder

The charge sheet, filed in the NIA Special Court in Jaipur, charges all 12 identified accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, Arms Act, and UAPA. The investigation revealed that Rohit Godara masterminded the murder plot with Virendra Charan, Goldy Brar, and others. After the killing, Godara and Brar claimed responsibility, using it to intimidate and extort money from others, according to the NIA statement.

The two assailants, Rohit Rathore and Nitin received pistols and several rounds of bullets for attacking Gogamedi, the investigative agency said. While fleeing the house of Gogamedi, both had also attacked an i-10 car and a scooter rider and used the two-wheeler to escape. it is said that accused Mahendra Kumar and his wife co-accused Puja Saini had sheltered Nitin before the murder.

"Rahul had taken the help of accused Bhawani Singh to hire the services of Nitin Fauji for the attack. Bhawani was provided weapons and shelter by one Ashok Kumar," the statement said. Udham Singh, along with Bhawani Singh and Rahul, sent Nitin to Jaipur to execute the plan. the accused Rambeer provided shelter to Nitin despite knowing his involvement in another arms case, the agency said.

Further probes into the case are in progress and a search is underway for the absconders, the NIA confirmed.
