Narendra Modi Honoured With Bhutan's Highest Civilian Award, PM Says 'Deeply Touched'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred with the highest civilian honour of Bhutan, the Ngadag Pel gi Khorlo award on Friday.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred with the highest civilian honour of Bhutan, the Ngadag Pel gi Khorlo award on Friday. Bhutan celebrates its National day on December 17 every year.
Taking to Twitter, Bhutan Prime Minister wrote, “Overjoyed to hear His Majesty pronounce Your Excellency Modiji’s @narendramodi name for the highest civilian decoration, Ngadag Pel gi Khorlo.

Reacting to the honour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and thanked Bhutan and said that he is deeply touched by this warm gesture.

The Prime Minister’s Office of Bhutan wrote in a Facebook post, “PMO India HM highlighted all the unconditional friendship and support Modiji extended over the years and particularly during pandemic. Much deserving! Congratulations from the people of Bhutan. In all interactions, seen Your Excellency as a great, spiritual human being. Looking forward to celebrating the honour in person.”
Bhutan Prime Minister Lotay Tshering also congratulated the people of his country on the 114th National Day of Bhutan and said, “To all the award recipients on this auspicious day, I offer heartfelt Tashi Delek. People of Bhutan and I am grateful for all your hard work and unconditional love and service to the nation. #114nationalday.”

In his messages to the country, he wrote, “We love our country, but it is time to love our country “differently”. I offer my heartfelt felicitation to all the fellow Bhutanese and the friends of Bhutan around the world.”
