Need To Instil Pride Among Young Hindus Regarding Religion & Tradition: RSS Chief

He further said that the conversion of the Hindu youth is wrong and as a community, we need to make them aware of their religion and traditions.

New Delhi: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that there is a need to instil pride within the young Hindu boys and girls regarding their identity. He further said that the religious conversion of the young Hindus is wrong and as a community, it becomes imperative for us to make them aware of their religion and traditions.

As per the ANI report, the RSS chief was addressing the RSS workers and their families at an event in Haldwani in Uttarakhand on Sunday.

"How do conversions happen? How do Hindu girls and boys adopt other religions for petty selfishness, for marriage? Those who are doing it are wrong but it is another matter. Don't we nurture our children? We need to give them these values at our home. We need to instil pride in them for ourselves, our religion and respect towards our tradition of worship,"  Bhagwat was quoted by ANI in its report.

He implored people not to be confused and answer the questions regarding the issue. "Answer the questions if they come. Do not be confused. We should prepare our children and for that, we need to learn," he adds.

While emphasising the need of preserving traditional family values, the RSS chief further urged people to visit Indian tourist sites, consume home-grown food and wear traditional outfits.

He further urged people not to differentiate on the basis of caste, and strongly condemned untouchability as a practice. "Society is habituated to guessing religion from names. Differentiation of people should be completely removed from the heart," he adds.
