Sharad Pawar Death Threat: NCP MP Supriya Sule Asks Mumbai Police To Take Action, Says Dirty Politics Should Stop
MP Supriya Sule called upon the Mumbai Police Commissioner regarding a death threat to NCP chief Sharad Pawar. She asked the police to take action in the matter.
Following a death threat directed at Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief Sharad Pawar by an alleged BJP activist, NCP MP Supriya Sule, accompanied by party workers, visited the Mumbai Police Commissioner on Friday. Sule informed the media that she had received a death threat on her own account, targeting her father, Sharad Pawar. She sought justice in the matter and emphasised the need to put an end to such "dirty politics". Additionally, she appealed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to address the increasing crime rate in Maharashtra.
As per sources close to ABP Live, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis has instructed the Commissioner to probe into the Twitter handle from which the threat was issued. While talking to the news agency ANI, he said, “Maharashtra politics has a high tradition. Although there are differences at the political level there are no differences of opinion. Threatening any leader or overstepping the bounds of civility while expressing themselves on social media will not be tolerated…In such a case the police will definitely take action as per law."

The alleged BJP activist, Saurabh Pimpalkar, indirectly targeted Sharad Pawar in a tweet on Friday. The translated tweet stated: "Aurangzeb's face became distorted due to his lifelong habit of consuming betel nuts. If this claim holds true, could we witness a similar occurrence in the future?"
