Nashik: Fake new currency notes worth Rs 1.35 cr seized, 11 arrested

New Delhi: Fake currency notes worth Rs 1.40 crore seized in Nashik by the police. Rs 5 lakh among which is of old fake currencies. In other words, police seized 1.35 crore worth of new fake currency notes. The cops have arrested 11 people in this connection. All notes are of Rs 500 and Rs 2000 denominations. The case is being investigated by the Nashik police. It is pertinent to mention here that after the announcement of notes ban, there have been reports, everyday, about notes getting seized by the cops but seizure of fake new notes in such huge amount is really a point of concern. The BJP government had announced the notes ban last month to check black money and fake notes but this recent seizure by the police appear to be a setback for the government.
