Mumbai Rains: Normal Life Takes A Hit, Fish Spotted Swimming At Waterlogged Railway Tracks
According to the reports, Mumbai local trains had to be suspended at various locations due to water-logging and other flood-related issues.
Mumbai: Situation in Maharashtra capital Mumbai remained grim as the heavy rains pounded Mumbai, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), and coastal Konkan for the second consecutive day, hitting suburban train services and disrupting normal life. According to the reports, Mumbai local trains had to be suspended at various locations due to water-logging and other flood-related issues. What's worse to realise is that some railway stations including that of Mumbai Parel local train station even spotted fish swimming in the water that collected over the tracks during downpour.

Heavy rains also lashed the adjoining coastal districts of Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg in the past 24 hours. The weather department has issued a red alert in Mumbai and suburbs for two days (Tuesday and Wednesday) due to the extremely heavy rains.
The water flow from high-level areas to low-level areas is so fast that the low-level areas get submerged in rainwater. People residing in these areas are facing various kinds of problems due to heavy rains which has created chaos in the form of water-logging and traffic jams. People are stuck in traffic because of water-logging on the roads.

Amidst the continual downpour in the economic capital, Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray hailed journalists, policemen and other local bodies staff for braving the stormy rain along with their responsibilities. The youth leader also asked the citizens to remain indoors and safe.
"Requesting all to remain indoors. Mumbai is lashed with high velocity winds and extremely heavy rain as we all can witness. I request all, especially journalists trying to cover this to remain safe. Stay put wherever you are," Aaditya Thackeray posted on his official Twitter account.
In the following Tweet, the Shiv Sena leader said, "While we’ve asked all to stay home, the police and urban/ rural local bodies staff are on streets and are braving the stormy rains.
