Mumbai Police react to Shobhaa De tweet

New Delhi: Well-known author, columnist and novelist Shobhaa De’s tweet stirred controversy. She tweeted a picture, making fun of an overweight policeman what she thought was a Mumbai police-officer.

Her tweet triggered a storm of abuse and criticism on Twitter. She has been criticized for body shaming of a police officer. The Police personnel in the picture, was from Madhya Pradesh Police as it was indicated by his shoulder badge. Her tweet didn't go well with Mumbai Police and they responded to Shobha’s tweet advising the author to be a responsible citizen.
