Mumbai: Bridge at Grant Road Station develops crack, traffic diverted

New Delhi: A day after Andheri bridge collapse in Mumbai, the bridge at Grant road station has now developed some cracks. After the bridge showed deep, huge crack running down its center, the Mumbai Police diverted the traffic to Nana Chowk towards Kennedy bridge. The cracks on the bridge were seen last night.
Mumbai Police took to Twitter on Wednesday morning and updated about the cracks on the bridge. The bridge has been closed while the traffic has been diverted to Nana Chowk. On Tuesday, the pedestrian portion of Gokhale road over the bridge that connects Andheri East to West collapsed on the railway track. At least five people were also injured in the incident. The Mumbai Police yesterday informed that Gokhale Flyover will be closed for traffic for repair work for a few days. The police adviced the commuters on Twitter to take route thru Balasaheb Thakre bridge Jogeshwari /Milan flyover Santacruz/Mrunal Tai Gore flyover Malad Goregaon/Captain Gore bridge Parla / Andheri-Khar-Milan subway.
