Karnataka: ED Officials Raid MUDA Office In Mysuru Amid Land Allotment Row Involving CM Siddaramaiah

During the meeting at MUDA office in Mysuru, key documents related to land deals and acquisitions were discussed and it is indicated that several files are expected to be seized by the ED.

A team from the Enforcement Directorate (ED), consisting of 12 officers, conducted a surprise raid on the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) office on Thursday. The team, led by senior officials, held a meeting with MUDA Commissioner Raghunandan, City Planning Member, and Special Land Acquisition Officers as part of their ongoing investigation into alleged corruption.

The raid is part of the ED's probe into the alleged 50-50 ratio MUDA corruption scandal, which has been linked to high-ranking officials, including the wife of a Chief Minister. During the meeting, key documents related to land deals and acquisitions were discussed, and it is indicated that several files are expected to be seized by the ED.

MUDA 'Scam'

The case involving the Chief Minister centers on allegations that his wife, BN Parvathi, received 14 prime plots of land in Mysuru in return for 3.16 acres elsewhere, supposedly for infrastructure development. Anti-corruption activists claim this deal resulted in a loss of Rs 45 crore for the state.

Although BN Parvathi has since returned the 14 plots, officials from MUDA have stated that this action will not affect or stop the ongoing investigation into her, the Chief Minister, or her brother.
