In his tweet, senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge asked whether Malik’s remarks were true.
Sharing the video clip on Twitter, he wrote: “Meghalaya’s Governor Sri. Satya Pal Malik is on record saying PM was ‘arrogant’ on the issue of Farmers and Home Minister Amit Shah called the PM as ‘mad’. Constitutional authorities speaking about each other with such contempt!”
“Narendra Modi ji is this true?” the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha asked.
Pawan Khera shared the video, asking people to listen to what Home Minister Amit Shah said about PM Modi, as claimed by Satya Pal Malik.
Speaking in Telangana, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi also shared his reaction over the viral video.
“PM Modi got angry while meeting Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik as Malik talked about the death of over 500 farmers due to farm laws. It proves the PM doesn’t want to hear the truth even from a governor, let alone the public. He just wants praises”: he alleged, as quoted by news agency ANI.
As reported by news agency PTI, Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik made the comments during an event in Haryana’s Charkhi Dadri. In the video, he can be seen claiming that when he went to meet the Prime Minister on the issue of farmers, the latter was “arrogant” and had a fight with him within five minutes.
According to him, PM Modi was completely indifferent to the farmers’ deaths, the protesters who had died agitating against the three agrarian laws last year and instead, asked him to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The Governor further claimed that when he met Home Minister Amit Shah, the latter told him that “people have clouded his (Modi’s) vision” and he should keep meeting the prime minister to press on the demand.
