Micro artist's wax tribute brings Jayalalithaa, MGR together

Coimbatore (TN): A micro artist has created a wax idol featuring the faces of two former Tamil Nadu chief ministers M.G. Ramachandran (MGR) and J. Jayalalithaa, as a tribute. Sumesh, the micro artist, has created a 10-inch idol featuring the faces of the two former chief ministers by using honey wax. A mechanic by profession, Sumesh began working on the statue after learning about Jayalalithaa's death. ''Honeycomb is an eco-friendly medium as it can be used again if necessary. If one wants to remove the colour used in the sculptures it can be done easily by dipping it in mild hot water,'' said Sumesh. He further said that he will be handing over the sculpture to his alma mater Government Higher Secondary School in Kuniamuthur, on Monday. Jayalalithaa passed away on December 5 after a prolonged struggle with ill health. She was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai on September 22nd due to dehydration and fever.
