MHA Best Police Stations of India 2020 : Of the total 16,671 police stations across the country, 75 made it into the second stage, and from those in the second stage, the top 10 were selected.
MHA Best Police Stations of India 2020: The Union Home Ministry on Thursday released a list of the top 10 best performing police stations in the country for the year 2020. According to the ministry, the stations were chosen in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directions while addressing the 2015 Directors General of Police (DGP) Conference in Kutch, Gujarat.

Amit Shah, Union Minister for Home Affairs, said a majority of police stations short-listed from the thousands of police stations in the country are those located in small towns and rural areas.
In order to incentivize more effective functioning and bring healthy competition, the ministry of home affairs selects the best-performing police stations across the country every year.
Of the total 16,671 police stations across the country, 75 made it into the second stage, and from those in the second stage, the top 10 were selected.
According to the ministry, a total of 4,056 volunteers participated in the survey.
India’s top 10 police stations for the year 2020:
- Nongpok Sekmai (Thoubal, Manipur)
- AWPS-Suramangalam (Salem, Tamil Nadu)
- Kharsang (Changlang, Arunachal Pradesh)
- Jhilmili (Surajpur, Chhattisgarh)
- Sanguem (South Goa, Goa)
- Kalighat (North and Middle Andaman, Andaman and Nicobar Islands)
- Pakyong (East district, Sikkim)
- Kanth (Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh)
- Khanvel (Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Dadra and Nagar Haveli)
- Jammikunta Town (Karimnagar, Telangana)
- Property offence
- Crime against women
- Crime against weaker sections
- Missing persons, unidentified found person and unidentified dead bodies
- The last parameter has been introduced this year.
- Three from each State with more than 750 Police Stations
- Two from all other States and Delhi
- One from each Union Territory
