Maurya hints at joining BJP after quitting BSP

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh MLA Swamy Prasad Maurya, who left the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on June 22, is now mulling to join The BJP as has the leader sought a meeting with the ruling party after his SP rebuff. Maurya seems to be exploring his political options keeping in mind the forthcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. Maurya spoke to BJP general secretary Om Mathur, who looks after the party’s affairs in Uttar Pradesh, asking for a meeting. After quitting Bahujan Samaj Party, it was being presumed that Maurya would be joining the Samajwadi Party and will be inducted into Akhilesh Yadav’s Cabinet by the end of June.
