MNS Chief Raj Thackeray Postpones June 5 Ayodhya Visit

BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh had said earlier this week that Thackeray will not be allowed in Ayodhya till he tenders a public apology for his comments in north Indians. 

New Delhi: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray’s visit to Ayodhya has been postponed due to health concerns. Thackeray was supposed to visit Ayodhya on June 5. He was on a visit to Pune in the past few days from where he returned to Mumbai due to health issues. According to ABP News sources, Thackeray injured his leg which might require surgery. Although, the official word on the injury will be shared after Thackeray's consultation with his doctor.

As of now his visit to Ayodhya stays on hold and more information will be shared on May 22. 

Meanwhile, there were protests going on in Ayodhya against Thackeray’s visit. The Saints and Mahants had held a roadshow in Ayodhya and demanded an apology from Thackeray for his comments against North Indians in the past. 

BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh had said earlier this week that Thackeray will not be allowed in Ayodhya till he tenders a public apology for his comments in north Indians. 

“Raj Thackeray has been insulting North Indians right from 2008. He did not spare even pregnant women and students. We welcome his change of heart but he should first apologise. If he has a problem with apologising to the people, let him apologise to the Saints so that he will not repeat this mistake in the future. If he fails to apologise, forget Uttar Pradesh, we will not even allow him to set his foot in places like Jharkhand and Bihar too,” Singh was quoted as saying by news agency IANS. 

The announcement for the tour was made by Thackeray in Pune on April 17 when he said that he will visit Ayodhya on June 5 to take blessings from Lord Ram.
