MP: Police Arrest Landlord For Forcing 17-Year-Old Tenant, Her Friend To Perform Obscene Dance

Police said the house owner forced the student and her friend into an inappropriate dance when the latter visited her at her home near the Pardeshipura police station on the evening of March 30.

A man in Madhya Pradesh was apprehended for allegedly coercing his 17-year-old tenant and her friends into performing an obscene dance, as per police reports on Monday.

The 45-year-old house owner purportedly compelled the nursing student and her friend to engage in an indecent dance when the latter visited her at her residence in the Pardeshipura police station vicinity on the night of March 30, an official said.

He said the girl and her friend were beaten with a dog leash by the accused, who was allegedly drunk at the time.

FIR Registered Against Accused

The official confirmed that a first information report was registered against the accused under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Furthermore, the landlord's underage son is said to have been involved in the incident, as per reports.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhinay Vishwakarma informed that the implicated landlord has been detained, with a notice issued to his juvenile son, And a detailed investigation has been initiated into the incident.

The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has taken notice of the incident and has demanded a comprehensive report from the police.

CWC chairperson of Indore, Pallavi Porwal stated, "We have written to the police asking for a report about the girl's condition and legal steps it has taken in the matter." 

Passengers Assault A Man For Molesting 15-Year-Old Girl

In a related incident, a man was thrashed by passengers for allegedly molesting a 15-year-old girl inside a suburban train in Mumbai on Monday, according to a police official.

The incident occurred on Saturday night while the train was between Dadar and Andheri on the Western line. The accused, identified as Noor Ahmed Sagir Ahmed (34) from Kamathipura, was apprehended, stated an official from the Bandra railway police station, PTI reported

"He was held on Monday. The girl, who was with her father, realised Ahmed was touching her inappropriately. After she raised an alarm, passengers thrashed Ahmed and handed him over to police at Andheri railway station," he also said.

"Ahmed was admitted to Cooper Hospital after the thrashing. He was arrested for committing such a crime earlier. He consumes drugs. At the time of the incident, the victim, who is undergoing treatment in a Parel-based hospital, had taken the Dadar-Borivali train after visiting the facility," the official added.

Ahmed has been charged with molestation and other offenses under the Indian Penal Code and the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, the official confirmed.
