How Has Kedarnath Temple Authority Reacted?
Shri Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee President Ajendra Ajay said that the Shankaracharya should present evidence in this case. He said that Swami Avimukteshwaranand had made creating controversies a habit.
Ajendra Ajay said that it was "very unfortunate" that a claim of gold missing from Kedarnath Dham has been made. He requested Shankaracharya to present the evidence to support his claim. Ajendra Ajay said, "I respect Swami Avimukteshwaranand but he addresses press conferences all day long. Swami Avimukteshwaranand has a habit of creating controversies and spreading sensation to remain in public discourse."
According to news agency ANI, the temple committee chairman said, " His statement on gold missing in Kedarnath Dham is very unfortunate. I urge him as well as challenge him to bring to light facts and evidence. He should go to authorities, present then the evidence and demand an investigation. If he doesn't trust a capable authority, he should approach the Supreme Court and high court, file a PIL, and demand an investigation if he has evidence. Otherwise, he doesn't have the right to stoke an unnecessary controversy and harm the dignity of Kedarnath...If he is working to advance a Congress agenda, it is very unfortunate..."
