JP Nadda's Bengal Visit: BJP Alleges ‘Serious’ Security Lapses During Nadda's State Visit, Dilip Ghosh Writes To Amit Shah

JP Nadda's Bengal Visit: Bharatiya Janata Party’s president JP Nadda who has been entitled to a Z category protection, allegedly faced a security lapse in Kolkata. BJP’s West Bengal unit chief Dilip Ghosh wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the lapse in his security. Taking the cognizance of the letter, Shah has said that Bengal administration will have to provide an answer. As the Bharatiya Janata Party is now focusing on its mission Bengal ahead of the state assembly polls, JP Nadda is on a two-day visit to Mamata Banerjee-ruled state. Today is the second day of his visit to the poll-bound state. “There has been a security lapse during party president JP Nadda's visit to the state. There was no presence of police at his events yesterday. I've written to Home Minister Amit Shah and administration here,” West Bengal BJP Chief Dilip Ghosh said. "At our party office at Hastings, Kolkata, there was a mob of 200 plus with sticks, bamboos etc demonstrating raising black flags. Some of them climbed on the cars parked outside the office and raised slogans. Police did not intervene to stop them and casually allowed them to come within a close perimeter of Nadda ji's vehicle," Ghosh said in a letter on Wednesday. On Thursday too, Protestors attempted to block a road in Diamond Harbour from where BJP President JP Nadda's convoy was passing, protestors also pelted stones at his convoy He is on his way to South 24 Paraganas to address a meeting of party workers. Nadda was shown black flags allegedly by Trinamool Congress supporters when he arrived in Kolkata's Hastings area to inaugurate the party's election office on Wednesday. The incident took place outside the newly-opened office when about 50 people tried to wave black flags and shouted "BJP go back" slogans when Nadda entered the building. BJP activists also came out of the building and engaged in counter-sloganeering. BJP on Thursday also alleged that its workers were beaten up by TMC cadres in Diamond Harbour area of West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district ahead of its party President J P Nadda's visit there. Banners of the saffron party were torn at the venue of Nadda's programme and some of its workers were also beaten up by the ruling TMC, the state BJP sources were cited by news agency PTI.
