J&K: Encounter Breaks Out In Awantipora, One Militant Neutralised, Says Kashmir Police
"One terrorist neutralized in the encounter that broke at Nambal area of Awantipora. The search operation is underway," Kashmir Zone Police was quoted by ANI on its official Twitter handle.
New Delhi: Militants and security forces on Monday clashed in Nambal village of Awantipora region of South Kashmir's Pulwama district, officials said.
"The terrorist has been identified as Irfan Ahamd Sheikh son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh resident of Karemabad Pulwama linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT/TRF," Kashmir Zone Police was quoted by ANI on its official Twitter handle.

According to reports, a joint team of the Army, CRPF, and police started a cordon and search operation in the Nambal region of Awantipora after receiving convincing information regarding the presence of certain terrorists in the area.
As the joint team of the Army, Police, and CRPF neared the probable location, the concealed terrorists opened fire on the troops, resulting in a confrontation.
According to J-K police, incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including one Pistol was recovered from the site of the encounter.
Two LeT, TRF Terrorists Neutralised In Encounter At Zakura
Earlier on Saturday morning, the IGP Kashmir had said that two terrorists from the terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and The Resistance Front (TRF) were neutralised by Srinagar Police during an encounter in the Zakura district of Srinagar City.
According to ANI, one of the terrorists slain was identified as Ikhlaq Hajam, who was also engaged in the recent death of HC Ali Mohammad at Hassanpora, Anantnag.
According to the IGP Kashmir, incriminating documents like two firearms were discovered from the terrorists.
