Terrorist Attack Thwarted In J&K's Poonch As Security Forces Bust Hideout, Destroy IEDs

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district have thwarted a terror plot by busting a terrorist hideout in a forest area.

Security forces thwarted a terror plot in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch on Monday busting a terrorist hideout in a forest area in the district. They also recovered five improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and two wireless sets, officials said on Monday.

All the ready-to-use IEDs, weighing between half a kg and five kg, were destroyed by the forces at the spot, the officials said, reported PTI.

The terrorist plan to set off explosions in the district comes amid heightened tensions after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam where 26 civilians were killed on April 22.
