Jammu & Kashmir: Security Forces Kill Two Terrorists In Budgam Encounter, Joint Operation Underway

Earlier in the day, the encounter had started between security forces and terrorists in the Hyderpora area in Budgam district.

New Delhi: Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have killed two unidentified terrorists in an encounter in Budgam district. Kashmir Zone Police had first tweeted about an unidentified terrorist being killed in an encounter. The operation, in which so far two terrorists have been killed, is still in progress 

"SrinagarEncounterUpdate: 01 more unidentified terrorist killed (Total 2). Operation going on. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice," said a tweet from Kashmir Zone Police.

Earlier in the day, the encounter had started between security forces and terrorists in the Hyderpora area in Budgam district.

"Encounter has started at Hyderpora, Srinagar. Police & Security Forces are on the job. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice," said a tweet from Kashmir Zone Police.

Earlier on Thursday, three terrorists were killed by the security forces. So far this year, more than 130 terrorists have been killed by the security forces. As per reports, 150-200 terrorists, including 38 foreigners, are still active in the Kashmir valley.

There has been an increase in terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir in recent times. On November 8, terrorists killed a salesman. A day before this, on November 7, terrorists shot dead a constable.

In October, terrorists reportedly killed at least 13 civilians which included businessmen, laborers and teachers. In October itself, reportedly at least 12 soldiers were martyred in terrorist attacks.
