Instagram 'Influencer' Bobby Kataria Booked For Consuming Liquor While Blocking Road In Dehradun

Several users posted other videos of Kataria with a man, who they identified as Gaurav Khandelwal. They asked the police to take strict action against Khandelwal as well.

New Delhi: The Uttarakhand Police registered a case against Instagram ‘influencer’ Bobby Kataria after a video showing him consuming liquor on a busy road in Dehradun went viral on the social media, according to reports. This comes on a day when Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia ordered a probe after a video showing the bodybuilder smoking in a SpiceJet flight surfaced online.

According to reports, the video, posted by Kataria on his Instagram handle on July 28, has triggered widespread anger among Twitter users. He posted the video with the caption, "It's time to enjoy on the roads."

The video, shot by one of Kataria's aides, has been uploaded with a song playing in the background "Road apne baap ki (the road belongs to my father)."

Taking to its official Twitter handle, the Uttarakhand Police said that the Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Kumar has taken cognizance of the video and has filed cases against Kataria under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information Technology Act.

Replying to the police tweet, several users posted other videos of Kataria with a man, who they identified as Gaurav Khandelwal. They asked the police to take strict action against Khandelwal as well.

Earlier in the day, Scindia ordered a probe after a video showing bodybuilder Bobby Kataria smoking on a SpiceJet flight surfaced on the social media.

According to the airline, the incident took place on January 20 in its Dubai-Delhi flight when the crew members were busy with on-boarding procedure.

The video shows Kataria, who has 6.3 lakh followers on Instagram, lighting a cigarette on one of the back rows of the flight. After investigation, Kataria was put on ‘no flying’ list for 15 days in February, SpiceJet said.
