India-Qatar Business Forum: VP Naidu Launches 'Start-Up Bridge' To Link Ecosystems Of Both Economies
The vice-president also talked about the strength of India-Qatar ties and called for building an environment that would help forge more mutual benefit
New Delhi: Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu launched the India-Qatar 'start-up bridge' on Sunday, a joint venture to link the start-up ecosystems of the two countries and boost their economies, news agency PTI reported. The venture was launched as vice-president Naidu addressed the members of the business community at the India-Qatar Business Forum in Doha. According to reports, Naidu had reached Doha on the last leg of his three-nation tour from May 30 to June 7.
Apart from launching the joint initiative, the vice-president also talked about the strength of India-Qatar ties and called for building an environment that would help forge more mutual benefit, a tweet from his Secretariat said.
During the meeting, Shri Naidu launched “India-Qatar Start Up bridge” that aims to link the start-up ecosystems of the two countries. He highlighted the strength of India-Qatar ties & called for building an enabling environment and forging more collaborations for mutual benefit.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that it is hoped that the Forum, jointly organised by FICCI, CII and ASSOCHAM, along with Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will lead to new opportunities for mutual trade and investment.
It is to be noted that the Invest India and Investment Promotion Agency of Qatar reached an agreement to promote two-way investments between the two countries, according to press release by the MEA.
Notably, the vice-president’s Qatar visit comes at a time when both the sides are gearing up to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.
Naidu met Qatar's Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani in Doha on Sunday, where the two leaders reviewed the growing bilateral relations between the two countries in areas including trade, investment, economic and security cooperation.
The vice-president also reiterated the importance that India gives to friendly relations with Qatar, and the commitment to boost the multifaceted bilateral cooperation in areas like trade, investment, energy, defence, food security, culture, education, technology, health, media and people-to-people contacts.
