NEW DELHI: Today is the 89th birth anniversary multi-faceted singer Kishore Kumar who is known for some super hit classical tracks including Mere Mehboob Qayamat Hogi, Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si, Koi Humdum Na Raha, Chedo na Meri Zulfen and others. His skills were not just limited to singing, as he also made his mark by giving many hit films including Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, Half Ticket, Pyar Kiye Jaa, Paisa Hi Paisa and others In Five Points: Who Was Kishore Kumar?   1. Kishore Kumar was born in a Bengali family in Khandwa, Central Provinces (now in Madhya Pradesh) as Abhas Kumar Ganguly.
  2. He was born on 4 August 1929 to father, Kunjalal Ganguly (Gangopadhyay) was a lawyer and his mother, Gouri Devi.
  3. Kishore Da, as he was affectionately referred to, was the youngest of four siblings.
  4. Apart from being a singer, he was an equally good actor, music composer, lyricist, screenwriter, producer and filmmaker.
  5. It is said that the singer got married four times. His wives were Ruma Guha Thakurta, Madhubala, Yogita Bali and Leena Chandravarkar.
