IAF Helicopter Dispenses Over 25000 Litres Of Water To Contain Goa Forest Fire. WATCH
In an attempt to douse Goa forest fires, IAF's Mi-17 helicopter dispensed over 25000 litres of water over affected areas in the state.
Goa Forest Fire: Efforts are in full swing on the eighth day to contain the raging forest fire in Goa by the Indian Air Force and other arms of the forces and authorities. In a bid to douse the flames, IAF's Mi-17 helicopter on Saturday dispensed over 25000 litres of water over forest fire-affected areas in the state.
According to the Indian Air Force, so far, a total of 47,00 litres of water has been dispensed by the IAF over the afflicted area.

Tweeting the video of the effort, Union Minister of Forest Bhupendra Yadav lauded the IAF for its continuing support. He said, "Grateful to the support from Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji in fighting Goa's forest fires. IAF helicopters have done a remarkable job trying to douse the fires and saving the forest and related biodiversity."
Meanwhile, Goa forest minister Vishwajit Rane on Saturday thanked local youth for coming ahead to help in the cause. He said in a tweet, "I would like to thank the youth of Copordem and Mauxi, for coming forward in supporting us to douse the fire."
