Hyderabad: 26 parents arrested for letting their minor kids drive

According to a statistic, the average age of violators in Hyderabad is between 15 and 16 years.

Hyderabad: Adopting a strict measure to curb underage driving, the Hyderabad Traffic Police arrested at least 26 parents for allowing their children to drive on roads. The stern enforcement is to discourage minors driving and riding illegally on roads. "Last month 20 parents were sent to jail by the court and this month 6 parents were sent to jail, so a total of 26 parents were sent to jail in last two months, they are the parents of the minors who were found driving, Anil Kumar, Addl. Commissioner of Police (Traffic) of Hyderabad told news agency ANI. “From our side we are also conducting awareness programs and we are counselling the parents,” he added. According to a statistic, the average age of violators in Hyderabad is between 15 and 16 years.
