'History Will Remember Aug 5': PM Modi On Olympic Win, Article 370 Abrogation, Ram Temple Construction
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today that it is only on August 5, when 2 years ago the country had further strengthened the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.
PM Modi Speech: Describing August 5 as a special date, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that on this day India got a medal in hockey, construction of Ram Temple started and Article 370 was abrogated from Jammu & Kashmir.
In a program organised to spread awareness about 'Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana', PM Modi said, "Today's date of August 5 has become very special. It is only on August 5, when two years ago the country had further strengthened the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat. On August 5 itself, by removing Article 370, every citizen of Jammu and Kashmir was made a full participant of every right, every facility.
He said, "It is August 5, when many Indians took the first step towards the construction of a grand Ram temple after hundreds years. Today Ram temple is being constructed at a rapid pace in Ayodhya''.
"After almost 4 decades this golden moment has come. Hockey which has been our national identity, today our youth has given a big gift to the country by regaining that glory," PM Modi said.

During the event, PM also targeted the Opposition parties. On the non-functioning of Parliament, he said, "On one hand, our country is scoring goal after goal of victory, on the other, some people, due to political self-interests, are doing such things which make it seem that they are scoring self-goals".
Modi further added, "These people are busy hurting both the time and spirit of the country for their selfishness. They are continuously insulting the Parliament of India for their selfishness. . While very citizen of the country is working hard to get out of the biggest crisis humanity has ever faced, opposition parties are competing to stop the work of the country’s interests.
The Prime Minister said, "But the great people of this country cannot become hostage to such selfish and anti-national politics. No matter how much these people try to stop the development of the country, this country is not going to stop. They are engaged in stopping the proceedings of Parliament but 130 crore people are engaged in not allowing them to stop the country."
