Harish Rawat Says Congress Will Also Have To Adopt BJP's Technique To Gain Power At Centre

Harish Rawat on Congress: Harish Rawat said that if Congress wants the Centre to return to power, it will also have to adopt BJP's technique.

Harish Rawat on Congress: Congress General Secretary, Harish Rawat, on Wednesday said that if Congress wants the Centre to return to power, it will also have to adopt the BJP's technique of strengthening its regional leaders.

Rawat, chairman of the party's election campaign committee for the assembly elections to be held early next year, said at a conclave, that to oust the Congress from power, BJP strengthened its local and regional leaders.

"We have to adopt the same technique so that Rahul Gandhi can become Prime Minister in 2024," he said. Harish Rawat said Congress will have to defeat the BJP in the states first to make way for victory at the national level.

Explaining the logic behind the idea, Rawat said that this was his understanding of politics. He said that apart from seeing the party's ideology, voters also look at the person representing them so that they can hold the person who made promises to the public accountable for five years.

Earlier, Harish Rawat openly expressed his displeasure with his own party, on social media. Rawat wrote on Twitter, "What's strange, to swim in the sea of the election, the organization's framework for cooperation is either turning away or playing a negative role instead of extending the hand of cooperation in most places. The sea in which to swim has left many crocodiles in power. The representatives of those who have to swim at their behest are tying my hands and feet. There are many thoughts in my mind telling me that Harish Rawat enough is enough now, you swam a lot, now is the time to rest!"

Harish Rawat's tweet just before the Assembly elections in Uttarakhand has put Congress in great trouble. Rawat is the most trusted face of the Congress in Uttarakhand, with the responsibility of campaigning in the state on his shoulders. According to sources Harish Rawat wants the party to make him the Chief Minister's face. Rawat argues that he is the first choice for Chief Minister in all electoral surveys. Harish Rawat was the first choice of 33 percent of voters in the ABP News-C voter opinion poll on December 11, while only 27 percent of the voters want the current Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to become the next CM of Uttarakhand.
