Petrol Price Today on 07 October 2021: State-run oil companies have hiked petrol-diesel prices for the second consecutive day. People from metropolitan cities, including Delhites, will have to spend more money on fuel. According to the IOCL website, petrol price today has increased by 30 paise and diesel prices rose by 35 paise per litre today. After this hike, the price of one litre of petrol in New Delhi has gone up to Rs 103.24 and diesel to Rs 91.77. Let us know how much petrol and diesel prices have increased in other cities -

  • In Delhi, petrol costs Rs 103.24 while diesel sells at Rs 91.77 per litre.
  • In Mumbai, petrol is priced at Rs 109.25 and diesel at Rs 99.55 per litre.
  • In Kolkata, petrol costs Rs 103.94 and diesel costs Rs 94.88 per litre.
  • In Chennai, the petrol price has increased to Rs 100.75/litre while diesel stands at Rs 96.26 per litre.

Why petrol and diesel prices are rising?

Petrol-diesel prices are rising due to the fast-growing demand for crude oil around the world. The production of crude oil is falling short in comparison to its demand. Recently, OPEC countries met and demanded to boost output by just 400,000 barrels per day. Thus, crude oil is becoming costlier around the world. And its impact on the price of petrol-diesel in the domestic market is evident and inevitable. Brent crude was trading at $82.38 per barrel.

Petrol and diesel prices cross Rs 100 in 26 states in India. Petrol prices cross Rs 100 per litre in all districts of Jammu and Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Manipur, Nagaland, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Nagaland, Puducherry, Telangana, Punjab, Sikkim, Odisha, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Tripura and Rajasthan.

Latest rates are released at 6 every day

The three oil marketing companies in the country HPCL, BPCL and IOC reveal new petrol diesel rates after 6 am. Apart from SMS, you can also check the official website of IOCL for the latest rates.
