Fire Breaks Out At Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine In Jammu; No Injuries Reported, Cash Counter Damaged
Videos of the incident shows huge blaze and thick plume of smoke rising from the building atop a hill that houses the famous Vaishno Devi temple.
Jammu: A massive fire broke out inside a building near the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu's Reasi district on Tuesday, damaging a cash counter. According to initial reports, several fire fighting teams have reached the spot to control the blaze.
No loss of lives or injuries have been reported so far.
Several users on micro-blogging site Twitter shared videos of the incident which show huge blaze and thick plume of smoke rising from the building atop a hill that houses the famous Vaishno Devi temple.
According to officials, no one was injured in the fire, which broke out from the structure adjoining the 'Bhawan' (sanctum sanctorum). They said the fire started around 4.15 pm due to a short circuit and was completely controlled by 5 pm.
Some cash and records were gutted in the fire.
Fire fighting squad of the shrine immediately swung into action after personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) raised an alarm.
