Farmers' Protest: After Tractor Rally & Chakka Jam, Unions Now To Hold 'Rail Roko' Agitation On Feb 18

New Delhi: After organising tractor rally and chakka jam, farmers have now announced to hold a four-hour 'rail roko' (railway blockade) on February 18 to further express their anger on three agri laws passed by the Centre last year. Releasing a statement about the same, Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), which is spearheading the protest, also announced that toll collection will not be allowed in Rajasthan from February 12.

"There will be a 'rail roko' across the country from 12 pm to 4 pm on February 18," news agency PTI quoted SKM as saying in an official statement. Earlier this month, they had observed a three-hour road blockade to press their demand of repealing the three laws.

The rail roko movement will also included a candle march on February 14 in the memory of those killed in the 2019 Pulwama terrorist attack.

Earlier this month, the agitating farmers called for a three-hour 'road blockade' to press their demand of repealing the three agri laws.

Speaking about the same, SKM leader Darshan Pal said candle marches, Mashaal Juloos' (torch marches) and other programmes will be held across the country on February 14 in respect of the sacrifices of the 40 CRPF personnel who were killed in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama on February 14, 2019.
