Failure Of Govt To Communicate Benefits Of Farm Laws: BJP Leader Uma Bharti

BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Uma Bharti has expressed her agony over the announcement of repealing farm laws by the Prime Minister last week.

New Delhi: BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Uma Bharti has expressed her agony over the announcement of repealing farm laws by the Prime Minister last week. Bharti took to twitter to say that she was shocked after the announcement.

She said in her tweets that farmers of this country cannot be satisfied by government efforts. “Till date the farmers of India have not been satisfied with any government effort,” said her tweet on Monday. 

The BJP leader explained that her reaction to the repealing of farm laws has come late because she was on the banks of Ganges, and the announcement left her speechless. “I have been on the banks of Ganga in Varanasi for the last 4 days. On November 19, 2021, when our Prime Minister Honorable Shri @narendramodi ji announced the withdrawal of all three agricultural laws, I was speechless, so I am responding after 3 days,” she said.

She also took the responsibility for the failure of the government to communicate the benefits of the three farm laws to the farmers. “If the Prime Minister @narendramodi is not able to explain the importance of agricultural laws to the farmers, then we all BJP workers are lacking in that. Why could we not contact and communicate properly with the farmers,” said another tweet.

Bharti also accused the opposition for “spreading propaganda” against the farm laws. “We could not face the constant propaganda of the opposition regarding agricultural laws. That is why I was getting very upset with the address of Prime Minister @narendramodi that day,” she added.

The three controversial farm laws were passed by the government in November last year, which led to an almost year long protest by the farmers on the borders of Delhi. On Friday, November 19, the Prime minister announced the repealing of the laws, resulting in mixed reaction by the people.
