Encounter breaks out in Shopian's Nadigam;1 soldier martyred, 4 terrorists killed

The firing has stopped and the security forces have cordoned off the area.

New Delhi: An encounter broke out between security official and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian’s Nadigam area on Tuesday. The army officials gunned down 4 terrorists during the encounter, one para soldier also suffered fatal injuries. The encounter also left 2 army jawans injured. This operation broke out with joint forces when information about two to three terrorists hiding in a residential area came to light. Soon security forces launched the search operation, post which firing began from both ends. The firing has stopped and the security forces have cordoned off the area. The search operations are still going on. More details on the same are awaited.
