Big Message For Us In Sardar Patel's Efforts For Somnath Temple Renovation: PM Modi At Gujarat Event
PM Modi said that the new circuit house near Somnath temple has been designed in such a way that people staying here will also get 'Sea View'.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a new Circuit House near the Somnath Temple in Gujarat on Friday via video conferencing. After the inauguration, PM Modi addressed the event talking about the benefits of the new circuit house.
The Prime Minister also shared some pictures of the circuit house on Twitter informing about the inauguration on Thursday.

- Speaking about the features of the newly inaugurated circuit house, PM Modi said that this building has been designed in such a way that people staying here will also get 'Sea View'. That is, when people sit here in their rooms peacefully, they will also see the waves of the sea and the peak of Somnath will also be visible.
- PM Modi said that the circumstances in which the Somnath temple was destroyed, and the efforts made by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the renovation of the temple, both have a big message for us. The contribution of tourism to the economy of our country is huge.
- PM Modi said that in the last 7 years, the country has worked relentlessly to realize the potential of tourism. Today this development of tourist centers is not just a part of a government scheme, but a campaign of public participation.
- Speaking about ways to improve tourism, PM Modi said that today the country is looking at tourism in a holistic way. Four things are necessary to increase tourism. First cleanliness- earlier our tourist places, holy pilgrimage places were also unhygienic. Today Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has changed this picture.
- PM Modi further said that another important factor in promoting tourism is convenience. But the scope of facilities should not be limited to tourist places only. The facility of transport, internet, correct information, medical arrangements, should be available at all places and the government is working in this direction also.
- The Prime Minister said that the third important aspect of increasing tourism is time. Today is the era of 20-20. People want to visit maximum places in minimum time.
- The fourth and very important thing to increase tourism is our thoughts and approach. It is necessary for our thoughts to be innovative and modern. But at the same time, we shouldn't forget how proud we are of our ancient heritage.
- Taking a jibe at previous governments, PM Modi said that after independence, only a few families in Delhi witnessed development. But today the country is leaving behind that narrow thinking, building new places of pride, giving them grandeur. It is our government that built Babasaheb Memorial in Delhi.
The Somnath Temple is visited by lakhs of devotees from India and abroad every year.
The need for the new Circuit House was felt as the existing government facility was located far off from the temple, the PMO said.
The new Circuit House has been built at a cost of over Rs 30 crore and is located near the Somnath Temple.
It is equipped with top-class facilities including suites, VIP and deluxe rooms, conference room, auditorium hall, etc.
The landscaping has been done in such a manner that sea view is available from every room, the statement said.
