Didn't Get Response From CM Gehlot: Sachin Pilot Announces 1-Day Hunger Strike Against Corruption In Rajasthan

Sachin Pilot's statement comes just days after Ashok Gahlot denied having any differences with Pilot and said that both the leaders will contest the polls together.

Ahead of the Rajasthan elections scheduled later this year, rift between Ashok Gahlot and Sachin Pilot within the Congress party once again came to the fore. On Sunday, Pilot announced that he will go a day-long strike after he appealed to the Gahlot government to act on the allegations against the previous Vasundhara Raje government but got no reply.

"On April 11, I will do a one-day hunger strike to mark my words that action should be taken against corruption in the state so that the public does not feel that we are not doing any work or we have not fulfilled any of our promises," Pilot said in a press conference.

Our government has not taken firm action against corruption. The CBI investigation into the mining scam against former CM Vasundhara Raje could not be done, nor was any action taken on the Lalit Modi incident, this did not send a good message to the public, the former Rajasthan deputy Chief Minister said.

When our government was formed, we had said many things together regarding corruption, but till now this work has not been done. In view of this, I will go on a one-day fast at the Martyr's Memorial on 11th April. This fast is being done to keep and do those things which have not been done by our government till now, he added.
