New Delhi: Days after Delhi Bharatiya Janta Party Chief Manoj Tiwari’s residence was ransacked by 8-10 miscreants, Delhi Police Assistant Sub-Inspector was on Wednesday suspended for mishandling the assault on Tiwari’s aides on Sunday night. As per a senior police officer, ASI Kailash Chand who was posted in a PCR unit could have avoided the attack by taking an appropriate action on time.  "ASI Kailash Chand, who was posted in a PCR unit, could have prevented the seven attackers from barging into Tiwari's residence where they attacked his personal staff". A departmental inquiry has also been ordered against Chand, the officer said. Action against Chand was taken after Tiwari complained to senior police officers against him following CCTV footage which showed Chand entering and coming out of Tiwari's residence after the incident, the officer added. The matter, as per the police was an aftermath of a road rage incident, where Tiwari’s car hit another car, which enraged the car owner, who thereafter reached out for Tiwari at his North Avenue residence in Delhi. As per Tiwari’s complaint the matter was a conspiracy and an attempt to kill him. He said that the accused even went up to his bedroom looking out for him. As per Tiwari’s the accused first thrashed Tiwari’s helpers and thereafter got inside the house asking for him. As per the workers, the miscreants were hurling abuses and while they were searching for Tiwari in the whole house. Tiwari, whose house is a few metres away from the police station had also claimed that this was a pre-planned attack and his life would have been at stake if he would have been at home at the time of incident.
