Delhi Terror Attack: Arrested ISIS Terrorist Planned An Attack On Ram Mandir Site, 15 KG IEDs Recovered

ISIS Terrorist Arrested: After an exchange of fire with the Delhi Police on Friday night, the ISIS terrorist was nabbed.

Delhi Terror Attack: A special cell of Delhi police have arrested a suspected ISIS operative plotting an attack on Delhi after a brief encounter near Ring Road late on Friday. 15 Kg of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and a pistol have been recovered from his possession. The operative has been identified as Abu Yusuf Khan. He was arrested on Ridge Road between Karol Bagh and Dhaula Kuan after a brief shootout. According to the latest development, sources have said that the ISIS terrorist was planning an attack on Ram Mandir site and was acting on the instructions of his bosses in Afghanistan. According to a statement by the Delhi police the IEDs were found in a pressure cooker. “There was an exchange of fire after which he was arrested. He was a lone wolf who had planned an attack in the national capital. We have recovered a pistol and two IEDs from him. We will share more details during the day,” Pramod Kuswaha, deputy commissioner of police (special cell), said. A police team had received information about Khan’s movement in the ridge area between Dhaula Kuan and Karol Bagh, following which it laid a trap. The police believe the suspect visited several places in the city and was plotting a lone wolf attack. The matter is being investigated further, the police said, to determine if the suspected terrorist had accomplices in other parts of the city or country. Meanwhile, NSG commandos and members of the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) were seen carrying out search operations near the Buddha Jayanti Park in the national capital's Ridge Road area. As the visuals play out a six-wheeled black robotic device, likely a bomb-defusing or disposal device, trundles down the path and towards a parked truck, at which point it stops and turns to the camera. In earlier visuals shared by ANI a larger group of people, some of whom are in civilian clothes, can be seen inside the park. The visuals also show NSG commandos with sniffer dogs patrolling the area. Also watch: Delhi police arrests ISIS terrorist, recovers 2 IEDs & weapons
