DELHI: Fashion designer, domestic help murdered in Vasant Kunj by employed tailor; all 3 accused surrender

Three suspects, including Rahul who used to work for designer Mala Lakhani as a tailor since last three years, surrendered to police in the morning.

New Delhi: A double murder incident in New Delhi’s posh area Vasant Kunj was reported in the early hours of Thursday. The deceased were identified as 53-year-old fashion designer Mala Lakhani and her domestic help named Bahadur aged above 50 years. Three accused of the murder, including a tailor who worked for her, have surrendered, police said. A fashion designer by profession Mala Lakhani used to live at A-82, Vasant Kunj Enclave. Joint police commissioner Ajay Chaudhary informed that all the three accused have surrendered. As per the information, the prime accused name Rahul who used to work for the fashion designer as her tailor, along with his two other relatives stabbed her to death. When the domestic help of Mala came to save her, the culprits killed him also. The murder was perpetrated between 10-11 pm last night with a knife bought 10 days ago. The intent of the culprits was to rob the valuables of the house. The three persons came to the police station during the wee hours of Thursday at about 2:45 am and disclosed that they have committed murder at A-82, Vasant Kunj Enclave. Police immediately rushed to the spot to verify the facts. On reaching the spot, dead bodies of house owner identified Mala Lakhani her domestic help Bahadur, were found lying in a pool of blood. Several stab marks were present over the body. During preliminary enquiry of police, it revealed that deceased Mala Lakhani ran business by the name of Tulsi Creations at Green Park. She had set up a workshop in her house for cutting and tailoring. One of the alleged namely Rahul son of  Md. Anwar was working as a tailor master in the house of deceased. He along with his two associate,s Rahmat and Wasim made a plan to murder Mala. After that they stole valuable items from the house and left the spot in the car of the owner. The bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem examination in the morning and an investigation was initiated. The residents of the locality found out about the murder when they saw a large number of policemen gathered outside the house and two dead bodies being taken out. WATCH:
