Delhi CM Atishi Oath Ceremony: Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi took oath as Delhi Chief Minister on Saturday at Raj Niwas. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena administered the oath of office to Atishi at Raj Niwas. Alongside Atishi, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gahlot, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Imran Hussain, and Mukesh Ahlawat were also being sworn in as cabinet ministers.

Gopal Rai, Kailash Gahlot, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Imran Hussain, and Mukesh Ahlawat took oath as Minister in the Atishi-led Delhi government.

Following the oath, Atishi was seen touching Arvind Kejriwal's feet.

Notably, AAP leader Atishi's parents Tripta Wahi and Vijay Singh were present at Raj Niwas as Atishi took oath as Delhi CM.

Delhi CM Atishi met AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal before the oath ceremony along with her new cabinet ministers. Former CM Arvind Kejriwal was also present at Raj Niwas for the oath ceremony.

Following the oath, newly sworn-in minister Kailash Gahlot told news agency ANI, "Arvind Kejriwal's guidance as the party's national convenor will remain. Our only goal is to continue to work for the people of Delhi like before and to bring back Arvind Kejriwal."

Echoing similar sentiments, Delhi Minister Gopal Rai said, "This team belongs to Arvind Kejriwal - its target is to further the works started by him. Especially, the target is to work with the people of Delhi to control the air pollution as the winter is coming... The AAP govt has done many works - despite the unfavourable conditions people are getting free electricity, better education and other things..."

Mukesh Ahlawat remarked, "It's all because of Arvind Kejriwal and Baba Saheb that people like me become the Minister. We will work as much as possible - the priorities will be to work for the people of Dalit and backward communities..."

He told PTI, "The ministry that I have received has always been challenging. However, I will fulfill my responsibilities properly."

Imran Hussain expressed confidence that Arvind Kejriwal would be re-elected as Delhi CM after the next assembly polls. He said, "In another 4-5 months, Delhi Assembly elections will be held and Delhi will make Arvind Kejriwal the CM again.  The work is being done under the guidance of Arvind Kejriwal - be it the education model, free water, free bus travel for women and others..."

Meanwhile, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari lauded the invitation to common villagers who were in L-G House to witness the oath ceremony. He said, "I would like to congratulate Atishi for becoming the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi. It is very nice to see that common villagers have been invited to L-G House today to attend the oath-taking ceremony... We will support her."

Delhi CM Atishi To Face Floor Test In Upcoming Assembly Session

Atishi, who held the most portfolios, in the Kejriwal government was elevated to the post of Chief Minister after Arvind Kejriwal announced to step down from the post last week. Kejriwal had put forward her name which was unanimously agreed by the party.

After taking oath to office, Atishi has become the third woman to be Delhi's Chief Minister after the late Sheila Dikshit and late Sushma Swaraj. She is also the youngest CM of the national capital.  Now she will need to pass a floor test in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. The Assembly session has been scheduled for 26-27 September, where she will be expected to secure the trust of the House.
