Dadri lynching: Forensic report confirms meat in Akhlaq’s house was beef
New Delhi: Acting upon court’s order, Uttar Pradesh police on Tuesday made the report of Mathura forensic lab public in Dadri lynching case. The report said beef was cooked at Akhlaq’s house in Bishada village on the day of the shocking incident.
The court pronounced its verdict to make public the report after hearing the case for more than a month. The court ordered police to hand over the copies of the forensic report to the defense.
Families of accused had been demanding disclosure of report.
50-year-old Ikhlaq, resident of Bishada, was beaten to death and his 22-year-old son Danish critically injured by a 200-strong mob which barged into their house following rumours that the family had consumed beef. The family claimed they were eating mutton not beef.
The incident had generated intense political heat in the country as it was said by Modi detractors that an environment of religious intolerance was being condoned by Modi government.
