Crime Branch quizzes rape accused Daati Maharaj for 7 hours

New Delhi: Self styled rape accused godman Daati Maharaj was on Tuesday was grilled for 7 hours by Crime Branch. Daati was at large ever since the rape accusation against him came to light.He is likely to be questioned again on Friday, further on the case. The crime branch is likely to quiz his three brothers over the case. Daati Maharaj has been accused of raping his own disciple in his ashram in Rajasthan. He was sent a notice asking him to join the probe by Wednesday.  He reached the Delhi Police Crime Branch office around 2.30 pm today and was questioned for over seven hours, they added. He was questioned by a team led by Rajesh Deo, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime). The officer said that he was questioned on the allegations levelled against him by the complainant and whether he knew the victim. He denied the allegations against him, he added. On Saturday, a Delhi Police team had visited the godman's ashram in Pali, Rajasthan, to gather evidence. The team, which failed to find him at the ashram, was accompanied by the rape victim.
