Covid Guidelines: Know Rules For Inter-State Travel Amid Relaxations

Many states have also relaxed quarantine rules for fully vaccinated people or for people who have received at least one dose. Know about the rules for traveling to different states of the country.

New Delhi: The country continues to fight corona with vaccination. So far about 68.75 crore people in the country have been vaccinated with at least one dose. In this 16.11 crore second doses have been given. As the number of vaccinations increase, the corona guidelines are being relaxed slightly by the states than before.

Many states have relaxed travel rules. People who have received both doses are being exempted from the rule of RT-PCR report. At the same time, many states have relaxed quarantine rules for people who have been fully vaccinated or for people who have received one dose.  We are giving you information about the rules for traveling to different states of the country.

RT-PCR test still required for travelling to these states.
Andaman: At least 48 hours old report 
Chhattisgarh: At least 96 hours old report 
Jharkhand: 72 hour old report 
Ladakh: 96 hour old report
Mizoram: Either a 48-hour-old RT-PCR report or a RAT test and an RT-PCR report.
Tripura: 72 hour old report 

People who have been given both doses are allowed to travel to these states. What are the rules for people who have not received even 1 dose?
Assam-Meghalaya: People should get tested on arrival. For Assam, you need to have an old report or both vaccine doses.
Chandigarh, Kerala, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim: 72 hours old RT-PCR negative report is required. There is no need for a report in Rajasthan for those who have received 1 dose of the vaccine.
Goa, Maharashtra, Manipur, Uttarakhand: 72 hours old RT-PCR negative report is required or the second dose of the vaccine should be taken before 15 days. (14 days for Goa)
Nagaland: 72 hours old RT-PCR negative report, if only one dose of vaccine is taken, followed by a quarantine of seven days.

Different rules for people coming from different states.
Gujarat: If you are traveling to Surat in Gujarat, either you should have received both doses of the vaccine or you should have a 72-hour-old RT-PCR report. There is no such rule anywhere in the rest of the state. 


J&K: In Srinagar, if you don't have an RT-PCR report, you'll need to get the RAT test.
Karnataka: If you are going to Karnataka from Maharashtra or Kerala, you should have a 72-hour old RT-PCR report. 
Tamil Nadu: If you are going from Kerala to Tamil Nadu, you should carry a 72-hour old RT-PCR report. People who have taken both doses of the vaccine are exempt from this rule.
West Bengal: It is mandatory for passengers coming from Pune, Mumbai, and Chennai to show a 72-hour old RT-PCR report. People who have taken both doses of the vaccine are exempt from this rule.

What are the rules for travelling to Uttar Pradesh?

 In Uttar Pradesh, it is mandatory for passengers coming from Maharashtra and Kerala to carry the negative RT-PCR report. If you are coming to Lucknow from Sikkim, Manipur, Nagaland, Kerala, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, and Maharashtra, you need a 96-hour old report. Also, if you want to go to Varanasi or Bareilly, either you have both doses of the vaccine or you should have a 72-hour-old negative RT-PCR report. Passengers coming from Delhi to Kanpur are required to undergo tests after reaching there.

No restrictions for travelling to these states.
There is no restriction to travel in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Telangana.

What are the rules for international travelers?

RT-PCR test has been made mandatory for passengers coming to India from seven countries including South Africa, Bangladesh and China in view of the fear of new variants of covid-19. This information was given by the center. These seven countries are South Africa, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, and Zimbabwe.
