Coronavirus: Total Positive Cases Of COVID-19 Rise To 126 In India; 13 Patients Cured
Coronavirus: A state-wise data, compiled on Tuesday at 09:15 AM, on the Health Ministry's website showed that Maharashtra continues to top the chart with the most number of cases -39.
New Delhi: The total number of positive cases of novel coronavirus in India shot up to 126 on Tuesday, as 11 fresh cases were detected after Monday. The total of 125 cases also include foreign nationals. On Monday the total number of cases were detected to be 114.
A state-wise data, compiled on Tuesday at 09:15 AM, on the Health Ministry's website showed that Maharashtra continues to top the chart with the most number of cases -39, as per health officials in the western state, followed by Kerala, which has total 24 cases.
State-wise, the number of confirmed cases are: 1 in Andhra Pradesh, 7 in Delhi, 8 in Karnataka, 39 in Maharashtra, 15 in Haryana, 1 in Odisha, 1 in Punjab, 4 in Rajasthan, 1 in Tamil Nadu, 4 in Telangana, 3 in Jammu and Kashmir, 4 in Ladakh, 12 in Uttar Pradesh, 13 in Uttarakhand 13 and 24 in Kerala.

Government of India on Tuesday prohibited travel of passengers from Afghanistan, Philippines, Malaysia to India till 31st March, with immediate effect, in addition to the existing travel restrictions.
Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has laid guidelines for testing strategy in India. It also states that there is currently no community transmission of COVID-19.

The GoM held their 7th meeting on Monday and after detailed deliberations, social distancing measures as a preventive strategy has been proposed for implementation, Aggarwal said, adding that these interventions are proposed to be in force till March 31.
The key measures proposed include the closure of all educational institutions -- schools, colleges and universities -- gyms, museums, cultural and social centres, swimming pools and theatres, he said.
All ASI-protected monuments and central museums across the country will also be shut till March 31, Union Culture Minister Prahlad Patal said.
Students should be advised to stay at home and online education should be promoted, Aggarwal said.
"Non-essential travel should be avoided. Buses, trains and aeroplanes should maximise social distancing in public transport, besides ensuring proper disinfection of services," he said.
Jail For Those Who Refuse COVID-19 Tests In UP
The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has warned of strict action including jail for those who do not cooperate in the state's efforts to control the novel Coronavirus outbreak and spread misinformation or rumours to create panic in the society. UP health minister Jai Pratap Singh said that the concerned authorities have been given power under section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act to take all necessary actions in the wake of the Corona virus outbreak.
