Congress Should Conduct Bharat Jodo Yatra In Pakistan, India Is United: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma
Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi will flag off the 3,570 km Bharat Jodo Yatra lasting about 150 days from Kanyakumari to Kashmir on Wednesday.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took a swipe at Congress on Tuesday ahead of the launch of 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' saying the grand old party should conduct this campaign in Pakistan and stressed that "India is connected and united."
Stating that India was divided in 1947 under Congress, Sarma told news agency ANI: "If they want to start Bharat Jodo Yatra, then Rahul Gandhi should do this in Pakistan. What are the benefits of doing this Yatra in India? India is connected, and united. I want to suggest Rahul Gandhi take the Bharat Jodo Yatra programme to Pakistan.”
Calling the Assam Chief Minister "boyish" and "immature, Congress General Secy in charge of communications Jairam Ramesh said Himanta Biswa Sarma makes such statements only to prove his loyalty to BJP.
"I don't take Assam CM seriously, because he has to prove his loyalty every day after having been a part of Congress for 20-25 years. He's a recent migrant to the BJP, so he has to make outrageous statements every day," Jairam Ramesh said.

Ahead of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress General Secretary, asserted the yatra will unite people on issues like inflation, and unemployment among other matters of public importance.
"We are starting a positive politics. We want to hear from you, we want to solve your problems. We want to unite our beloved country. Let's unite India together," said Priyanka Gandhi in a Facebook video addressing the masses ahead of the 3570 km long yatra launch.
